How long does it take to raise your BMR?

Basically the title. I've been trying to lose weight since November of last year and I went from 200lb to 165lb (not that big of an accomplishment I know, but woohoo!). Anyways, I'm 17 and I'm 5'5" for stats. I recently got a smart scale that can tell you what your BMR is and mine is only 1500 calories per day. This is really shocking to me since I was trying to eat at a 500 cal deficit but I know it's not realistic nor healthy to eat 1000 cal per day.

I'm honestly not sure what to do and I really don't know how I'll reach my goal of 140 at this rate. I know that building muscle can help with your BMR but how long does it really take for your BMR to go up?
