40 lbs down since January, but mental health is on the decline

Lifelong struggle with obesity. Thankfully I'm 40 lbs down from January 2021 and I feel motivated to continue improving my heath. However, I've noticed this is starting to become an unhealthy obsession for me.

I'll happily weigh myself 20+ times a day. I know it unnecessary and unhelpful; but in the past I've lost a significant amount of weight, but put it back on once I stopped tracking every little thing I do.

I'm frustrated because even after losing 40 lbs, I still need to lose ~118 lbs to be even be in the "overweight" range. I feel like there's no way I'm ever going to get there. I'm considering bariatric surgery since I don't feel likeI can ever lose that much without some sort of intervention. I believe a psych eval and support group might be part of the bariatric process, so that'd be helpful as well. Without help, I can see myself developing some sort of eating disorder. I'm beginning to hate myself for eating, but definitely still love food.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue and how did you overcome it?
