How accurate are the smart scales?

Idk if it's technically called a smart scale or something else entirely but my gym has a bodyweight scale that you stand on the 2 metal footpads and grab these 2 wired hand sensors and it spits out info including not only weight but BMI, lean mass and body fat percentage. In 3 weeks it says I've dropped a total of 4.1 lbs (more, actually, since my second weigh in was at the end of a day and also after a meal) but also put on 2.3 lbs of muscle and decreased my BMI by 0.6 and my bodyfat% by 2.5%. The weightloss is by no means surprising considering I maintain a 1000+ daily calorie deficit but I was surprised to see 2.3 lbs of lean mass gain considering I only work out once a week and actually missed last week's session. I've always heard we cannot gain much muscle in a calorie deficit, especially a large one like 1000+ calories.

Thoughts?
