Emotional Eating

Hi! I’ve lost quite a bit of weight in the past year and have built healthy, happy sustainable habits. I used to be an emotional eater including eating when I was happy - to celebrate, eating when I was sad - for comfort, eating when I was bored - for something to do and eating when I felt lonely - for something to fill me. I’ve managed to reach a place where food is fuel and not your friend. Don’t get me wrong, I still love food and love cooking, but I don’t use it as an emotional crutch anymore.

Now I’ve lost my food ‘friend’, I sometimes feel a bit lost. What do you do instead? I’ve been working on expressing my emotions properly, rather than suppressing and eating them. But my family are going away for a week and I’m scared that once I’m on my own, I’ll turn to food out of boredom/loneliness. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)
