Question: is it actually possible to get rid of a double chin?

Apologies if this is off topic. It got removed from r/fitness but I really don't know where else to put it.

So, I have had a double chin my entire life. I have a very short jaw, and even when I was ~110lbs and looking like a model, I still had a horrible double chin. My entire family has that "turkey neck."

I see all these exercises online about tightening that area that usually doesn't get exercise, but I'm wondering do they even work? Yes, I understand that losing weight all over is supposed to help and that spot reduction doesn't exist, but I know that even if/when I get back down to my old weight, I will still have this short jaw and double chin if I don't do anything about it.
