Going vegetarian?

I've been thinking about going vegetarian for ethical reasons. I eat healthy. My sister and daughter are both vegetarians attempting to go vegan. I was raised with meat at every meal. I cook healthy for my family.

But seeing these poor farm animals being "raised" so inhumanely kills me. I know being vegetarian for ethical reasons is so much more than just food consumption, but we all have to start somewhere. And it would be healthier for my family (we have morbid obesity in our family going generations back). I've lost 250 pounds so I'm big on health.

It's scary to think about and more expensive if I want meat/dairy substitutes. Idk. Any of y'all done this?
