Clarification on IF?

So I’ve been curious about Intermittent Fasting (IF). I know there is a sub for it, but I didn’t want to post this there because I feel it may be a little biased.

My curiosity is, Ive always heard “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” and that starting your day with a meal (or some calories) is beneficial to jump start your metabolism and give you energy.

When I’ve heard folks talk about their IF regimen, it typically includes not eating until 10am-12pm.

So....which is better? For me I am a low energy person in the morning...but eating doesn’t always give me energy and I’m not always hungry (though sometimes I’m really hungry!). Some days when I’m not hungry I almost force myself to eat something because I feel like I should. Other days it’s really easy for me to not eat until lunch, making me think I may be OK at IF.

Does like having tea with milk in the AM during an IF regimen mess it up that much? Does IF work decently if I only do it a few days a week?

As always, Thanks for all the help r/loseit.
