Error in counting calories burned via exercise to find TDEE

I am unsure how to count calories burned in exercise. I have found an equation in several places to estimate the calories burned in an hour by multiplying the MET of the exercise by your weight in kg.

Example, walking 3.0 mph (MET = 3.5) for one hour and weighing 70 kg = 3.5*70 = 245 calories. That seems reasonable and makes sense.

Then TDEE = BMR + 245.

Except I was thinking, doing nothing for that hour would have burned 70 calories via BMR. So should I really say: BMR + (245-70), otherwise I double counted 70?

This isn’t a huge deal for one hour, but sometimes I walk 3 hours a day. I could be overcounting by 210 cals then if I was supposed to take off the 70/hour already counted via BMR.
