Thoughts on calorie deficit?

Hi everyone, so I've been on a weightloss journey for a year (on October 18th) and I've been seeing results which is great. I gained a lot of weight from 2019-2020, to the point where it started affecting my menstrual cycle, and I went 3-5 months between cycles for a while. I knew I needed a change. But I have a history of eating disorder, so I didn't feel quite ready yet to start calorie counting right off the bat. I was mindful of portions, substituted soda with sparkling waters and started eating more protein to meals. I didn't really start calorie counting til February this year when I finally bought a food scale, and I was doing amazing up until the end of July. I even got my period back, and it's been coming every 28 days for the past 5 months! But I feel I can't do it anymore... Maybe it's time for a break? I read you should take a break from "dieting" every once in a while. Or I think maybe my brain got tired to the point where I wanted to see faster results, even though the progress I was seeing was just fine. Now I find myself worrying about everything I eat, and it just feels hopeless. I don't have a specific goal or deadline for losing weight, I truly just want a healthier lifestyle and food freedom. I think I might try my hand at intuitive eating. It's just tough because I know what I'm doing has been working, but it's a fine line between a healthy method and a full spiral into restriction and binge cycle.
