Gained back 13 lbs due to stress, I could use some kind words

I haven’t been sticking to my calorie counting very well this summer. A few months ago I moved cities, and the stress has led to me not caring about what I’m eating. I definitely seek comfort in the form of food, and so any time I’ve felt lonely or anxious I’ve eaten over my calories, telling myself I’d make up for it in the following days. Spoiler alert: I never made up for it.

Emotional eating was my initial problem that caused me to gain the weight, and it has now caused me to gain back 13 lbs from the 40 I lost since May 2020.

I know I’m still down a net 27 lbs, but I’m so disappointed in myself. I just feel really low and ashamed right now. I could really use any words of advice/encouragement and any similar experiences that you’ve bounced back from.
