How can we love ourselves before losing the weight?

As someone who gained a lot of weight during covid, and no longer fitting into my old clothes or recognising myself in the mirror, I am struggling to love and accept myself without feeling horrified and disgusted by my current appearance. I am working to lose the weight gradually, but it will take a long time.

I am wondering if anyone here has any insight on how to love and accept ourselves as we currently are, prior to looking like our ideal selves?

I definitely enjoy reading the posts here and hearing about everyone's journeys, and I hope anyone reading this is having a great summer.

Thanks for reading!
