Anyone had success using meal planning / batch cooking?

Ive recently become interested in meal prepping, mainly just to manage time and money and make sure I have healthy food in the house for lunch. On Sunday I cooked a ton of dishes and portions out for my and my husband's lunches and dinners for the whole family.

I noticed on monday I found it much easier than usual to eat a sensible amount of healthy food , because all the decision making had already taken place.

I have 50lb to lose and it occurred to me this might be a really helpful approach. Has anyone else done this? Did it work for you? Tips?

Aaand extra blurb for the auto mod - I'm female late 30s 5ft2, started 177lb now 170lb, still obese. Seen steady slow weight gain for the 7 years I've been weighing regularly. Want to lose it before i hit 40. Cico does work for me as i lose weight, but doesn't work because it's unsustainable as i cook from scratch for my big family - ingredients and portions are rarely exact and meal times are hectic!
