Reached a point where iam barely losing weight

Hi, so i started working out in February 4 times a week with 2000 calories daily, the weight loss was going way to slow so i decided to go for 1500 calories and instead workout 5 times a week. I went from 85kg to 77kg , body fat 25% to 19% The issue for me is that right now iam barely being able to lose weight and i feel like 1500 calories is the bare minimum for a man that is working out now 5 times a week and playing football once a week . I also started to do incline treadmill for 10mins after every workout My goal is 70kg and iam losing about 0.3kg a week which will make this take forever

What should i do?

Weird triggers anyone?

Ok, I have restarted my weight loss journey almost a month ago and today I realized two things: 1) I can't watch a Abbey (Abby?) Sharp video without slipping. I have nothing against her, she's a pro but I understand everything she says like:"eat whatever you want" and...it doesn't work for me. I know she's promoting balance but I don't think it works for me. I'm more a strict clean eater and YES I label certain foods as bad because...well...they make me feel like crap and it not just a matter of weight/aesthetic I literally feel sick if I eat a bar of Snickers for example. It tastes good but it's a bad food for me, so I just ban it. 2) A lot of time we don't have cravings but emotions we don't know how to express. Today after work, I wanted to eat a whole pizza . after having two slices of the healthiest pizza I could find (because we care about our greens in this house) I realized that I personally don't find pizza that great but I had a bad day, my project is going slowly because of a messy workplace...I was frustrated but I'm a "nice" girl I pretend it's ok. Anyone else can relate to these strange things? (Again not trying to judge people who can effectively balance everything or Mrs Sharp)

Losing my sense of taste has hit home how much I rely on food for comfort

I’ve always known I’m an emotional eater but I never realized how much until today. I have Covid and have lost my sense of smell and taste and overall feel crappy.

All I want is to feel better and my brain’s first thought is FOOD. I want to eat all the junk food to make me feel better. But I can’t taste anything so all the tasty junk food in the world won’t do anything to me. I feel so frustrated. Right now I’m eating for health and recovery and not for taste. Which maybe is what I should be doing all along.

It’s just so crazy what a hold food has on my emotions and not being able to scratch that itch has left me miserable.

I’m not sure now to get over this hold that food has on me.

Sorry for the rant. Does anyone has any tips? How do you detach food from emotional comfort?

Feeling grateful

I've read so many posts about partners and parents and friends trying to sabotage people on their weight loss journey. I just feel so lucky to have such a supportive partner. When we first started dating I was running c25k and he was my best cheerleader. I almost broke my ankle a few months into the relationship and couldn't run for over a year because of the damage. I gained a lot of weight because I unfortunately kept eating like I was running (the weed also didn't help with that lol).

But here I am again 40 pounds down on my latest journey and he instead of trying to sabotage he says that he'll just need to get in gear and keep up with me.🥰

We've been together over 8 years now and he's always been my biggest supporter when it comes to anything in my messed up life.

If you've got a support team in your life do something special for them to let them know how much you appreciate having them in your corner!

I can’t stop overeating/binging. I need help

I have been trying to lose weight ever since the start of the year and ever since march, i’ve fallen off track and started binging and overeating and now i’m back to my starting weight. if this is relevant, I’m a 17 year old girl and I’m 5’5 and in the 120-125 pounds range. My goal is to weigh between 110-115. Everyday I try to restrict my calories and I just fail miserably and end up overeating or binging and it’s the worst. I end up in a lot of physical and emotional pain. Today I’ve decided I’ve had enough and I just want to quit doing this to myself because i’m immensely terrified of gaining weight. Does anyone have any tips to stop overeating/binging?

How do I (19f) deal with all of this new attention?

So…growing up, I was almost always a chubby kid. Pretty much as soon as the pandemic hit (dec 2019) I began losing weight. This started off well-intentioned however resulted in a pretty severe ED that I am still trying to keep in check. I started at 240lbs, and today am ~130lbs.

Have you ever seen those movies where the girl loses the weight, ditches the glasses, gets a new wardrobe, and totally turns into a different person? It was like that for me. Sometimes it feels like a modern-day Cinderella story. Just more goth. And hungry.

Now—in the hopes that I will not come off as a vapid soul-sucking attention whore—I present to all of you a total first-world problem. How the hell do I get these guys to leave me alone??? I was swept away at first, until I had to tint my windows because I got followed home 3 times in the span of a couple months. What do I need to say? I went from having a good balance of male friends to barely being able to keep any due to…my newfound ultra hotness. I guess. How do I navigate my friendships with men?

Perhaps this is just another coming of age situation wherein I need to stop caring about my male friends’ feelings and just be firmer, but my “I’m emotionally unavailable, not interested, don’t see you that way but it isn’t your fault” responses don’t seem to be working. This is becoming a genuine issue for me. I don’t have a lot of experience rejecting people.

A part of me is scared to be firm and assertive with these men, specifically because I truly value their friendship. I don’t want to ruin our friendships by putting my foot down or creating distance. I am a very blunt person, but I try to be gentle with feelings. For reference: the majority of my social circle is 25-40 due to my job. Although every guy I become friends with in college seems to try me too. But that seems to come with the age.

Another part of me is angry. I’m having a very hard time making new friends, because I am quite introverted. I’m frustrated that ever new male friend I make seems to always roll over into a crush. I miss having genuine emotional connections with men.

PLEASE HELP.

What has been your experience with a nutritionist/dietitian

Just like the title states: What has everyone's experiences been with seeing a nutritionist/dietitian and what can I expect when meeting with one? I am very new to this! (some history below)

Hi everyone!! So, I've been trying to lose weight (started 266 pounds, current 233 pounds), however, my downfall is my diet. I have started to think about my diet more and I know it is terrible. I love sweets/candy/baked goods so much! I just don't know how to give those up or change that habit of dessert every night and a mall sweet treat/piece of candy at work during the day. I also noticed I do not eat a lot of veggies or other healthy food, and I think my portions are way too large. I also noticed that I get so hungry by the end of the work day that I come home so I eat a very large snack and not too long after I eat dinner, then a dessert.

Since I have noticed this pattern and how unhealthy it is, I reached out to my doctor to get a referral to a dietitian/nutritionist and I am SCARED! I struggle with changes, I am an extremely picky eater (always have been) and I don't like certain textures. I am scared that the nutritionist/dietitian is just going to tell me to stop eating sweets and other favorite foods and tell me to just start eating a bunch of veggies and then get mad at me when I have a hard time with changing my habits.

I did see a nutritionist when I was very young like maybe second grade and it was horrible and humiliating. My parent was not great and I did not get to chose my food or even make my plate and was forced to eat microwaved meals or fast food for the majority of my meals growing up and when my parent took me to the nutritionist I was made fun of for being fat and got a lecture about making better food choices and to start putting smaller portions on my plate (which I didn't have control over at the time) and it was awful. I refused to go back a second time and just locked myself in a room until we would have been too late to go to the second appointment.

Thank you all!
