Goal Outfit?

Hi friends!

Has anyone bought themselves a "goal outfit" of something they want to fit into at their goal weight? I have a cruise booked for the end of the year and I have thought about buying a swimsuit in the size that I hope to be by then. I'm just trying to decide if I will find it motivating or discouraging...has anyone had any experience with this? And did you find it motivating, or discouraging?

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Anyone else with no thyroid?

I'm almost a month into my journey of CICO as well as startingto exercise, and for the last week the scale hasn't budged, after losing 5 pounds total the two weeks before. I know it could be a variety of reasons but wondering about my thyroid. I had my thyroid removed almost 10 years ago and my levels are stable. I'm on levo and cytomel.

Just wondering if there's anyone else out there in my situation, and if you've done anything different to lose weight. Also wondering if our metabolism is different/off from those without thyroid issues. If I need to account for it in my TDEE calculations or what.

Thanks for any help/advice!

i’ve had enough of feeling miserable and i’m ready to get back on track

i started my weight loss journey in january 2022 and my goal was to lose 50lbs by october 2022. long story short: i only lost 30lbs by then. while i am proud of the progress i did make, i’ve gained back 10lbs since the beginning of this february. i’m extremely self conscious and i know the summer is going to be a nightmare since i’ll be wearing shorts and swimsuits. i’m tired of feeling self conscious and uncomfortable 24/7. i want to feel good. i want to actually reach my goal weight this year. i’ve decided i want to lose 50lbs from where i am now. i know it’s going to take me some time, but i feel like it’s doable to get there by january 2024 if i really work hard? i’ve started doing 16:8 fasting the past few days and eating in a 400cal deficit and i’ve lost 4lbs! i know this is most likely all water weight, but it still feels good. i’m going on a trip in the middle of may and im excited to see how much i can lose before then even if it’s just a couple pounds. i’ve also been aiming for 80oz of water a day and i’ve been doing really great with this and usually going over my water goal! i decided to make this post since it’s april 1st so i can make monthly check in posts to reflect on my progress for the month! i’m excited to get back on my journey and get back to feeling good! :) if you have any tips or experience to share, i would love to hear it!

Encouragement to push forward

I don’t know what anybody is striving for in their journey but I just want to say keep pushing and remember it is a journey. There will be pit stops where you just take in the sights and your weight may get stagnant for a bit while you enjoy your new normal. There will be times when you double back because you didn’t completely learn that lesson and some weight may come back but you can push forward. There will be times when you’re accelerating forward and the pounds are just dropping off. It’s all apart of the journey. It doesn’t always feel good, you’re going to get tired of it, you might overeat one day one week or even maybe find yourself there for a month but regardless it’s a journey. It takes time to find the memory to do what’s good for yourself and realize you can be healthy without doubting yourself. Someday all this will come natural to you and you’ll look back at the ride and realize the car is still rolling it’s just a little easier to enjoy!

Doing everything right but still not losing weight 🥲

So I’ve been exercising and eating healthy for about 8 months now and my body refuses to go down in weight. I’m 32 yrs old 5’4 female ~150lbs. I eat approx 1400-1500 calories a day and burn at least 2000 calories a day according to my Apple Watch. I alternate with strength training and cardio days and eating a high protein diet. I’m not sure what to do anymore! I feel like my body is just comfortable at 150lb and refuses to go down. I’m trying to reduce my body fat percentage but I’m also stuck in the 30% range. I hardly ever have any cheat days and I weigh out all my portions. Has anyone ever experienced this before?

How long after starting intense cardio do you stop feeling like you're going to die?

😂😂 For real, though. If I'm at 80%-85% of my max heart rate, I'm spending some time just questioning my own mortality for a hot minute afterward.

Does this go away, or am I always gonna feel like a pile of human sweat and imminent demise any time I hit it hard?

(I've been slowly amping up my cardio and every time I go a little harder with it, this happens. Even if my muscles feel like they can keep going, I just feel like hot garbage...)

Was a fitness watch a game changer for you? Fitbit vs. apple watch?

Making a lot of major changes to my diet and starting to target 10,000 steps a day. Currently I just use my phone to track my steps, but as I’m a month out from Covid and have some lingering health issues, I’d like to keep track of my heart rate, etc. to make sure I’m not pushing myself too hard.

Debating between adding an apple watch to my phone plan or picking up a fitbit. I’d love to know if it actually made a difference to you to be able to monitor your calorie burn/steps on a daily basis.
