Feeling Terrible - First Post

I have been a food addict my entire life. Most of my life I have been able to manage my addiction using exercise, meditation and having a busy social life. I switched careers 5 years ago and went from being active and around tons of people all the time to opening up my own company which entailed me sitting at a desk all day. I became very successful and slowly my life got smaller and smaller. Long bike rides turned into long Netflix binges. Salads and a good nights sleep turned into fast food and waking up constantly. Spirituality turned into depression. Now here I am 5 years later and 401.2 lbs and absolutely hating my life. I’m walking around with a cane, I take Xanax to function from my anxiety and I can barely even walk my dog. Over the past couple of years I have tried many diets. Mostly restrictive. The longest I have made it was 18 days while doing keto. I’m not trying to play the victim here but just trying to be honest about where I am at and welcome any help/advice that anyone might offer to help me start a new path back to healthy living. I want to feel good again more than anything. I just feel completely lost and know that the only way sometimes to get out of a rut is by asking for some help.

Loose skin surgery thoughts.

Hey I’m 22M 6’0 250 lbs - 180 lbs

I have loose skin on my stomach, had on my chest and got it removed. Got a tattoo over the scar too.

Here is what I look like.

https://imgur.com/a/IROmBCr

I really dislike the loose skin on my stomach it seriously has an effect on my relationship and sexual confidence. When you feel disgusted by your own body, engaging with people in a healthy manner is just infinitely harder. I constantly ruin or shy away from beautiful women in the fear they will reject me for looking like this after liking me initially.

I have two options, surgery, which means another huge scar which I will have to tattoo over again, or get leaner and work on myself mentally in the hopes I will gain more confidence. This is the only thing I feel like is holding me back in life now, I really don’t know what to do. I have achieved success in every other part of my life. It’s severely upsetting.

Surgeon said the skin on my stomach was not bad enough to operate and he didn’t recommend I go that route, but I’m still unhappy.

Pretty sure I have body dysmorphia too lol

Eating 2200 calories rn I went from 200lbs 5"7/8 to 132 5"9 because I just kinda overeat and stuff. I was eating at maintenence (2000 cal) for a couple months but then went up to 2200 to try and gain some weight, but I'm still unsure if this I the right move since I still have some fat on my belly that I really hate. So should I continue or cut down so I can get rid of the fat. I'm currently kinda skinny fat so I'm just not sure right now where to go. I do workout whenever possible and eat pretty well.

Can someone help me with my fluctuation?

Hi everyone, I've been actively calorie counting since 2 weeks. I decided to go all in and just change my lifestyle by switching to a low calorie/high protein diet. Absolutely loving this new road to delicious recipes discovery to try and heal my relationship with food (former ED).

I started my journey at 108kgs (I'm 178 female) and my goal is to drop down to 90. Throughout the years I've already lost 45kgs with IF but that wasn't working for me anymore. I'm exercising 2x a week now but want to go to 3 times once I get my scheduling sorted out. 1x a week 30min cardio and 30min weight training OR I take a class called body beach which burns arojdn 650 kcal and 1x a week private kickboxing/krav maga/MMA. And I walk around 45min a day which comes to around 6k steps, during the weekend I get around 15k steps.

In a week I dropped down to 105.9 and I couldn't be happier but than I saw the stats on my scale. I weighted myself daily and I just can't understand how it's possible to fluctuate this much in muscle mass and lean body mass.

My stats at 108kg Fat mass: 46.4kg Muscle mass: 57.7kg Lean body mass: 61.2kg Fat %: 43.1 Muscle %: 53.6

My stats are now down to 106.2kg Fat mass: 45.5kg Muscle mass: 57.2kg Lean body mass: 60.7kg Fat %: 42.8 Muscle %: 53.9

My obvious thought was the moment I go down in fat mass, my lean body mass would go up but its just been dropping down and down and down. At one moment when I was 105.9 my lean body mass was 60.3kg and my muscle mass was 56.8kg! How?

Obvious answer would be: protein intake! But I am well over my daily required protein according to the 0.8gr/per body kg. My daily protein is anywhere between 85 to 130gr according to myfitnesspall where I record everything. Regarding calories, my bmr is calculated at around 1900 according to the well known calculatior but my scale says 1706~ not to worry as I eat anywhere between 1100 to 1400kcal a day (and no I am not starving myself. I am full and satiated until the next morning) the other Macros for the rest are well below the max amount set in the app.

Could someone just give me a run down on these stats? Should I be worried? Am I doing something wrong?

30 Day Accountability Challenge - Day 1

Hello everyone!

The first day of a new month, December 1! Can you believe it?! Dang. This year has been so long but also I'm pretty sure yesterday was January. Time makes fools of us all.

Welcome everyone! I’m reading up on the sign ups & loving everyone’s goals so far! Let’s get into it!

Maintenance calories: On it today!

Exercise 5 days a week (strength work/tbar swings 3 days a week): I'm unfortunately stuck working late this evening & had to take a call during lunch, so a boring rest day to start the month. 0/1 days.

Do holiday stuff everyday that brings me joy: Listened to some yuletide tunes. I love the instrumental version of Sleigh Ride.

Journal for two minutes before playing my Switch: Nailed it today. 1/1 days.

Read & respond to at least 3 comments a day on this post: I used to be a little better & more consistent about engaging with y’all. I think I got myself thinking it should be an all or none thing & I think that’s silly. That being said, if I miss you in the comments, please don’t take it personally! I’d love to work back up to chatting with all y’all!

Today's gratitude list: Today, I'm grateful for getting to squeeze & cuddle two cats today. Sometimes extra fuzzy butts can change the whole tone of the day for me.

Random self-care action I want to conquer today: This evening I'm going to do cooling eye masks & a lovely candlelit shower.

That’s my boring stuff, let’s get to you lovely folks. Hit us up! How was your day 1?

Will eating more carbs cause fat in body? So carbs is basically sugar? I don’t get it

There are so many type of carbs like some bread are whole wheat, white bread, whole grain stuff like that. It’s like which carbs do we even consume and how much do we eat? And sometimes even fruits are high in natural sugar such as bananas. They say people with type 2 diabetics should avoid carbs intake and bananas. Then what do you eat to stay healthy and lose weight at same time.

I always that our body needs carbs for energy but excessive carbs will lead to obesity

Third time here, heaviest I've been. Accountability buddies?

Hey all,

It's my night before my Day 1.

I honestly don't know what I weigh because I'm nervous that stepping on a scale will put me in a mentally bad place. The last time I weighed myself (in October), I was 170 lbs. My clothes are now tighter. But tomorrow, im going to get on the scale and assess where I am.

I'm 38 years old, 5'1 and my goal weight is 135lb. I know that sounds heavy for my height still, but it's actually what I weighed in college, and it looked great on me. I've done Noom. I've done CICO here and there. I've even been on this subreddit before.

I really, really want to find the motivation. I want to find the willpower. The thing that has oddly helped me the most in the past (I've been up and down in weight since 18 years old) is writing down what I'm thinking and feeling and reaching out to other people on this journey, too.

Is it weird if I post multiple times a day on here? Is it OK to use this forum for accountability buddies?
